HIRR | Sasha Walker

Describe yourself in one word?
Loud.

When do you feel most at home in your body?
When I've just finished a really tough sweat and I'm breathing it all out.

What is your favourite way to move?
I like to pick up heavy things... heavier things than people think I can pick up, and of course boxing, both are so cathartic and satisfying.

How do you keep yourself nourished?

I drink so much water, and prioritize veggies always (I'll literally blend them into pancake batter if I have to... try it sometime)

Where do you find inspiration?
My family and the network of seriously incredible women in my life. It's hard to put into few words, but the women who I surround myself with are strong, kind, and compassionate among a plethora of other things. It's hard not to be inspired when I'm engulfed in them.

How do you manage your mind?
Exercise has always been my number one mind manager. I've also come to really appreciate long walks and a good stretch session.

What are you currently reading, watching, listening to?
Reading:
Born a crime - Trevor Noah, and the improbability of love - Hannah Rothschild
Watching:
The Bachelor(ette), it's my guilty pleasure big time - I could probably win any Bachelor trivia and I've auditioned for the show twice so...
Listening:
Armchair Expert - the recent Aly Raisman episode is bomb, The Daily (almost every day), Michelle Obama's podcast

What are you most excited about at this present moment?
All of a sudden there's a lot of change and potential for change in my life. I'm particularly learning a lot about relationships right now, and what that looks like for me. There's a lot of ups and downs, but I'm a silver linings kind of gal, so I'm always looking for the lesson and learning those life lessons is usually pretty exciting.
