When do you feel most at home in your body?
A: Honestly, most days I feel at home in my body. I feel totally present and alive when I’m teaching and I love feeling pushed physically.
T: When I am moving to music — that could be through the process of refining a down dog with subtle shifts of my inner architecture, or simply shaking, dancing and bouncing to rhythm, also known as Saturday meta at TurF.

What is your favourite way to move?
A: There is no one way, I just love to move. I could be walking, running, riding my bike, playing tennis, teaching, going to a class. It doesn’t matter, I love it all and I really believe that the body needs to move in so many different ways for optimal health. I take that mantra into my daily life.

How do you keep yourself nourished?
T: I eat mostly plant based and definitely prioritize protein, but beyond that it’s very intuitive and important to me that whatever I am making evokes some pleasure. I write a substack where I aim to make eating well and nourishing more joyful and simple called Poetry in Motion. I do my best to practice the 80/20 approach — eat really high quality, nourishing foods 80% of the time (+ adequate hydration), and the other 20% is for things like Nook date night, TurF’s chocolate zucchini bread, the Kits Beach Coffee salted chocolate chip cookie, Grounds for Coffee cinnamon buns etc. :)

Where do you find Inspiration?
A: I’m most inspired and excited when I travel or do new things. I’m currently planning a January Hawaii trip with friends and I have a goal to go to The French Open in 2026.

How do you manage your mind?
T: Lately, reminding myself that my mind is my home and the place I spend the most time in. By choosing the quality of my thoughts, I can choose the quality of the experience living in it. I have been working on catching myself before I react to things to find that pause between letting something affect me or let it slide off my back. A lifelong practice!!!

What are you currently reading, watching, listening to?
A: Currently reading The Creative Act by Rick Rubin, and the Court of Thorns and Roses Series and I’m on book 3. It isn’t my typical reading but a couple of the teachers at TurF have been passing them off and we have some really fun exchanges about the books. I binged watched The Diplomat Season 2 in 2 days.

What are you most excited about in the present moment?
A: I just got a foster puppy yesterday so I’m really diving into helping this very young little dog. I felt ready to take on this type of personal work and being of service in my life right now.
T: Diving into teaching privates and Pilates reformer! It’s been fun to learn a whole new way of teaching and branch out from group classes — totally different skill set so it’s been a big learning curve, but always feels so good to be on the otherside of learning something challenging. I also love writing for my substack so much.

Who are the women that are currently inspiring you?
A: Honestly, all the women of TurF. I love the teachers (duh!) and the team that I work most closely with is the studio / shop team. Currently they are all young women who are doing such cool things with their lives. Some are starting new school programs, some have moved countries and are making Vancouver a (temporary) home. They keep me up to date on restaurants, workouts, books, recipes, brands to look out for and cool things to do.
T: Oh gosh long list..so so many of my students, Pamela Anderson, my teaching mentors and yoga teachers, really any women who are bravely embodying their truth as they navigate life-ing and evolving..and any time I see an older individual — whatever gender — who is out for a walk, at the gym, participating in a movement class — I hold such reverence for that.
